Being Burgled is Horrid. It feels like a violation of your home.
I talked at length to a burglaronce and he told me what burglars really do not like.
Burglar Alarms came near the top of his hate list. Especially if they are sited well out of reach (never leave a ladder in your garden)..
Remote control Burglar Alarms are really easy to install and you can fit sensors throughout your house (even at heights that will ignore your cat or dog.).
You should also have sensors on ALL your window and doors (no matter how small) as a determined burglar can enter through a remarkably small space.
His top hate though was small yappy dogs.
The things that burglars really hate is being noticed.
Keep your hedges well trimmed so that your neighbours can see your house frontage and entrance dors.
